By connecting with Carson’s Village, an Advocate will be assigned to every family in need. The Advocate will be able to provide valuable resources that help address the mental, emotional, financial, and planning needs of those who have lost a loved one.​

Carson’s Village has an extensive resource library dedicated to the various needs of those who are grieving.​

Examples of resources provided: ​funeral planning/coordination, connection to available national, state, and local financial assistance programs, and grief and bereavement support resources to include Carson’s Village Group Grief Support and Peer-to-Peer programs. ​

The Strength of a Village and a Human Touch

Helping families overcome obstacles...

A WrapAround Specialist reached out to Carson's Village after a student lost a brother. The family is from Guatemala and the only language they speak is a dialect from their village. One family member did speak Spanish and agreed to translate for the family.  They expressed being lost and not knowing where to start or what to do. The Carson’s Village Advocate explained the mission of Carson's Village, reviewed the process, and answered the family’s questions. The Advocate contacted multiple funeral homes and negotiated prices.  The Advocate provided the family with the information and explained how to select the best funeral home based on their budget and requested services.  Having a live Advocate ensured that the family had all of the support that they needed, when they needed it most.

Carson's Village knowledge and experience saves families time and money...​

A family asked Carson’s Village for assistance to pay for a funeral. They had already released their loved one to a local funeral home, but had not yet signed the contract, which was above typical funeral rates. The Carson’s Village Advocate called to get a better understanding of the charges. After suggesting that the family might move their loved one to a different funeral home, the funeral home reduced the price to keep them there, saving the family money they didn’t have. Carson’s Village continues to follow up with the family to ensure they have the support they need.
